Covid Vaccination Clinic

• Five surgeries are combining to provide a vaccination service for their area.
• They will be offering jabs over five shifts each week: Mon and Tues AM; Thurs AM and PM and Sat PM.
• Each shift requires a supervising GP and an admin assistant. Each shift, six pods need a vaccinator and an assistant; 14 staff in total, 4 different roles.
• Each staff members has their own weekly availability of 1-5 shifts.
• Some staff members can cover a single role and others multiple roles but with a preference for one over the other.
• There are over 100 staff in total to be accommodated with a fair split of days across the weeks.

Creating this rota on paper would take ages; using the government’s preferred Microsoft Excel would still take ages and give you no audit trail of changes.
